Turning Point Herefordshire Recovery Service
About this service
Free and confidential advice and information for people in Herefordshire, including young people (11-17), young adults (18-24) and adults (25+), families and carers, and veterans. We have hubs in Hereford, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye, with satellites in Ledbury, Kington and Bromyard. We also provide outreach support via our recovery vehicle (Lance).
We offer a range of treatment options, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), pathways for non-dependent and dependent alcohol users, non-opiate users, and opiate users (including Opiate Substitute Treatment, OST), and evidence-based psychosocial programmes (in person and online). We also offer harm reduction advice, needle syringe provision (NSP), and overdose awareness including naloxone/nyxoid (opiate overdose reversal drug). We offer assessments within 5 working days, with access to Introduction to Treatment (ITT) sessions to support engagement and referrals to other support services, including Individual Placement Support (IPS) to access employment. We work with service users to design a personalised care plan to meet their needs and promote service user involvement, with peer mentors and lived-experience workers to support recovery check-ins and aftercare.
