Southend YPDAS (Young People's Drug & Alcohol Service)
About this service
The Young Person’s Drug and Alcohol Service is commissioned to provide treatment for substance misuse to young people under the age of 18, as well as those in the transitional age group of 18–29, who are affected by drug or alcohol use.
Services provided
- Screening, Identification and Brief interventions
- Comprehensive Substance Use Assessment followed by Recovery Care Plan
- Psychosocial interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Informed Therapy and Relapse Prevention
- Group Intervention Programmes
- Recovery Group Support
- Counselling
- Acupuncture
- Support accessing stop smoking service
The service also provides:
- School-based universal drug and alcohol awareness and targeted group interventions
- Support for hidden harm, those impacted by parental substance use
- Family support for those impacted by a loved ones substance misuse
