999 Centre Deptford
About this service
- Direct access day centre for people experiencing homelessness, operating from 9am to 3pm on weekdays, with Early Bird Breakfast open to rough sleepers only from 06:30 – 08:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- Membership is open to people in Lewisham or Greenwich who are rough sleeping, unhoused or with no recourse to public funds.
- In the Gateway, members can have a shower, get something to eat, use the phone, computer or free Wi-Fi, get laundry done, recharge their batteries and check their post.
- Following assessment, members will work with the Intervention Team who’ll provide advocacy and support to identify their options and pathway to move on, including signposting and referrals to specialist agencies.
- Beyond the gateway, Members can access HEAT – the Housing, Education and Advice Team, and can attend workshops to access support with ID, benefits claims and other entitlements, opening bank accounts, searching for housing, speaking English as a second language (ESOL) social integration and more.
- Partners working on site with the 999 Club include CGL (substance misuse) Lewisham Council (early intervention) Refuge (domestic abuse), Thames Reach (Southeast London Prevention Service) and the NHS who run nurse-led clinics, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
