Mephedrone seemed too good to be true, my housemates and I would take it every time we went out and our nights were always the better for it, but after 3 months of this I fell behind at uni, so I started taking a little bit during the day, just to keep myself more alert through revision. Everyday I promised it would be the last day I took it. After 6 weeks I was re-dosing every half an hour, I dropped down to 6st 7lb, failed the exams I’d tried to save, could only sleep every other night for 2 hours at the very most and had completely lost grasp of reality. I was too scared to leave my room for days on end. Eventually my housemate coaxed me out and now I go to counselling. Things are looking up, but I’m still not in control. Every day’s a struggle and 2 months on my nose still hasn’t healed. Mephedrone stole nearly 5 months of my life.
